Thomas Van Etten is a First-Year Liaison with DukeLIFE. Thomas is a freshman from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, pursuing a degree in Biology with a concentration in Biochemistry, with a minor in Psychology. His current planned career path is to become a physician with a specialty in dermatology.
Angela Quintanilla-Capawana is a sophomore undergraduate student studying Biomedical Engineering and Global Health from Jacksonville, North Carolina. I am currently involved as a Duke LIFE Coach with the Office of Undergraduate Education, working with high school seniors on preparation for higher education and prospective students on life as an FGLI student at Duke.
Camila Jimenez is a sophomore from New York City majoring in Psychology and minoring in Biology. She’s Dominican, first-generation, and a low-income student involved with DukeLIFE, SOCA, and the Psychology Majors’ Union. On campus, she’s worked on research related to child development and racial identity, and she’s passionate about creating more inclusive, supportive spaces for students.
