Vice President of Advocacy

Meet Michael Hailu, serving as this year’s Vice President of Advocacy with Duke LIFE. He is a sophomore from Baltimore, Maryland. Michael is double majoring in Public Policy and Political Science with a concentration in International Relations, a minor in African and African American Studies, and a certificate in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics, and is on the pre-law track. Michael also engages in Duke’s Ethiopian/Eritrean Student Transnational Association as president, interns at the Duke Refugee Advocacy Program, is an Outreach Committee member for Duke’s Black Student Alliance, volunteers at Duke Hospital, and represents the Black Student Alliance on the President’s Council on Black Affairs (PCOBA).
