We have directories of faculty and administrators who identify as lower-income and first-generation college students. They all want to serve as a resource to LIFE students, so email them and ask to have coffee (they’ll buy ;)
Duke First is the alumni network for first-generation and/or lower-income Duke grads. They are eager to connect with current students to offer mentorship in navigating Duke (and the world beyond).
Check out the identity, cultural, and religious centers. Their physical spaces and programs create opportunities for students to be in community with each other. We hold multiple identities, so you might find multiple spaces that feel like home.
Yes! DukeLIFE has a study room in Perkins 318. All LIFE students can use their Duke Cards to enter it whenever the library is open. There’s coffee, snacks, whiteboards, a little lending library, and many tables and cozy chairs.
